SASKATOON, Sask. (CCN) — A display featuring a number of the Eucharistic miracles highlighted on the website of a young millennial saint has travelled across the Roman Catholic Diocese of Saskatoon and beyond since it was launched by the St. Joseph Catholic High School parent association last fall.
Most recently, the display of Eucharistic miracles chronicled by St. Carlo Acutis was featured at the July 15-12 pilgrimage to the historic Our Lady of Lourdes Shrine at St. Laurent, SK, in the Diocese of Prince Albert.
The St. Carlo Acutis display was first presented in partnership with the Cathedral of the Holy Family in October, during an event that included prayer, music, Eucharistic adoration, and information about the young saint who died in 2006 at the age of 15 and who was canonized a saint of the church on Sept. 7, 2025.
Participants filled the cathedral hall to view display boards featuring a number of the many Eucharistic miracles around the world that St. Carlo highlighted on his website. The website has since been translated into multiple languages and displayed in thousands of parishes and universities across five continents.
After the first successful Saskatoon event, Quin Kleiboer, diocesan coordinator of Rural Catechesis, approached St. Joseph High School community council about taking the display on tour to rural parishes in the spring of 2026.
By the end of the diocesan Eucharistic miracles tour, some 900 people had viewed the St. Carlo Acutis display at events held in 12 parishes. Stops included Annaheim, Cudworth, Wadena, Humboldt, Vonda, Kindersley, Leader, Unity, Viscount, Bruno, Martensville, and Wynyard.
“Children, youth, families, and seniors responded by coming to adoration, praying for loved ones, and renewing their love for the Eucharist,” said Kleiboer. The tour included presentations on the life of St. Carlo Acutis, as well as prayer — including Eucharistic adoration and Mass at various locations.
“Participants included First Communion children, Confirmation candidates, families, seniors, and students from rural Catholic schools in communities such as Unity and Humboldt,” he said.
“People drove from neighbouring towns and even from outside the diocese—sometimes for up to an hour—to take part, saying yes with their time, attention, and hearts.”
Kleiboer added that the fruits of the tour were “deeply personal and spiritual” for many of those who attended the diocesan events, held with support from the Bishop’s Annual Appeal.
“Many parishes are currently exploring ways to follow Carlo’s example by seeking his intercession for their catechesis, youth programs, and parish devotional life,” Kleiboer said. “The most common feedback received was heartfelt gratitude for the visit, for the time spent together, and for presenting something both beautiful and challenging for their communities.”
Melissa Stockbrugger-Knaus, a pastoral associate at St. Augustine Parish in Humboldt said she was grateful for the diocesan tour led by Kleiboer.
“He graciously accommodated my request to share his talk with two different school groups throughout the day, so all my Confirmation candidates were able to attend during the school day and receive this amazing information,” she said. “Then he provided an evening session for our parishioners. In total, over 300 individuals were able to experience this exhibit…. we received so many positive comments.”
The diocesan Office of Rural Catechesis was established through a legacy gift from the Ursuline Sisters of Prelate, and is also supported by the Bishop’s Annual Appeal. The diocesan office “exists to support, engage, and empower these everyday ‘yeses,’ helping rural parishes put their faith into action through catechesis, evangelization, and parish renewal,” described Kleiboer.
