TORONTO — Toronto’s Cardinal Francis Leo has been honoured with the King Charles III Coronation Medal.
In a private ceremony at Queen’s Park, Ontario Premier Doug Ford presented the medal to the Cardinal.
“HIs Eminence Frank Cardinal Leo, by command of the King, the Coronation Medal is hereby conferred upon you in commemoration of His Majesty’s Coronation as King of Canada, in recognition of your valuable contribution to your country,” Ford said, reading the proclamation.
The honour will be bestowed upon 30,000 Canadians for their outstanding contributions to Canada or for bringing credit abroad to Canada. Other recipients have included Peter Mahon of St. Michael’s Choir School and Susan Korah, The Catholic Register’s Ottawa correspondent.
