TORONTO — Toronto’s Cardinal Francis Leo has been appointed a member of the Dicastery for Interreligious Dialogue.
Pope Leo XIV chose Leo as one of 21 members newly appointed to the disasters, the Holy See Press Office announced July 3. The Cardinal is the only Canadian among the 21, which includes bishops and cardinals from various nations around the world.
The Dicastery for Interreligious Dialogue promotes and supervises relations with non-Christian religions, save for Judaism. These relations aim to promote peace, freedom, social justice, the protection and safeguarding of creation and spiritual and moral values.
