Welcome to Canadian Catholic News (CCN), a national collaborative dedicated to publishing news and opinion on issues and events of importance to the Catholic community in Canada through original reporting from our members and freelancers.
CCN’s weekly newsletter offers the week’s important headlines, as well as information about CCN events, including our online and in-person Catholic journalism courses. In addition to publishing news, CCN’s mission includes promoting Catholic journalism through professional development and formation. More than 75 people from three continents have taken CCN courses and many of these are working currently in Catholic media and journalism.
As part of its educational mission, CCN also organized its inaugural public panel, “The Case for Religion Journalism,” in Toronto in August 2025.
CCN launched the current redesigned website in May 2025.
As a Canadian nonprofit organization and a member of the Catholic Media Association of the United States and Canada (CMA). Our board secretary, Paul Schratz, editor of The B.C. Catholic, serves on the CMA board.
CCN relies on memberships from media partners and donations from supporters like you. Please consider making a donation to help us continue the work of Catholic journalism in Canada. Thank you.
